Dr. Hermann Einsele

Professor of Internal Medicine and Director of the Department of Internal Medicine of the Julius Maximilian University, Würzburg, Germany.
Dr. Einsele trained in Germany and the UK. A former visiting professor at both the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, and at the City of Hope Hospital in Duarte, CA, He is a member of the American Society of Hematology (ASH) as well as the European Hematology Association (EHA). Chairman of the German Study Group on Multiple Myeloma, he serves on the Board of Directors of both the German Society of Blood and Marrow Stem Cell Transplantation and the German Lymphoma Group. A past recipient of the van Bekkum Award, the highest annual European award for research in the field of stem cell transplantation, he is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists (London), and was the 2012 Nobel Lecturer on Stem Cell Biology/Transplantation at the Nobel Forum, Karolinska Institute (Sweden).
